Shamrock V is the name of a sailing yacht that was built in 1930 by the Camper & Nicholsons shipyard in Gosport according to the rules of the J-class for the America’s Cup. The name Shamrock refers to the Irish cloverleaf.
After a bitter defeat against the “Enterprise” in the 14th America’s Cup, the Shamrock V was later sold to Italy. In 1986 the Lipton Tea Company bought the ship and donated it to the Museum of Yachting in Newport on Rhode Island.
